Denpasar Surrounded By Floods, Koster Promises To Change The Loss Of Fisheries Market Traders

Bali Governor Wayan Koster went directly to the worst flood points in Denpasar City, especially the coast of the Tukad Badung River and Badung Market.

Koster asked the Mayor of Denpasar, IGN Jaya Negara, to record the losses of residents, especially the Badung Market traders and two cloth shop buildings that collapsed on the coast of Tukad Badung.

"Here there are around 200 market traders, so because the goods were washed away and damaged, they would be compensated, how much I asked the mayor to calculate everything, then there was a building that collapsed and the damage would be rehabilitated," said Koster, Wednesday, September 10.

It is known that rain with high intensity for more than 24 hours throughout Bali, especially Denpasar, has caused flooding in almost all areas since early this morning.

"This is far upstream, this length is Tukad Badung, then the rainfall is indeed very high from yesterday for a day, yes, of course this causes flood problems," he said.

As a result of this condition, Governor Koster asked the mayor to collect data, so that after handling the funds, the traders can return to selling.

"Both for compensation for damaged merchandise for traders and buildings will be funded for the Provincial and City Regional Budget Denpasar. So everything will be compensated," said Koster.

In addition to the Badung Market and Tukad Badung areas, the Bali Provincial Government recorded 43 flood points in Denpasar City with the worst two, namely the Badung Market area and along the Tukad Badung stream which is located and the Jalan Pura Demak area.

In addition to recording the losses of residents, Governor Koster asked to focus on flood management, namely saving traders and the community, because currently there are still two people declared missing.

Furthermore, inviting all parties, including the TNI, to help clean the streets of Denpasar so that conditions are more conducive and people can return to their activities.
