On Eid Al-Fitr, Mayor of Tangerang Invites People To Pray For Muslims In Palestine

TANGERANG - The Government of Tangerang City, Banten, invites the public to pray for Muslims in Palestine who are being affected by the disaster.

"We pray with our brothers in Palestine to always be protected by Allah SWT. We pray in this good moment", said Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah reported by Antara, Thursday, May 13.

In addition, the Mayor also urged that the public can conduct friendships with families and neighbors online in the moment of Eid al-Fitr to be awake from exposure to COVID-19.

"As a form of our love for our parents, because they are very vulnerable to contracting COVID-19. It's a pity that our parents have to get infected because we are negligent in the application of health protocols", he said.

Tangerang City Government has held a "Virtual Tabkiran" event to welcome Eid al-Fitr 1442 H/2021 M which is a follow-up to Circular Letter No. 180/1770-Bag-Hkm/2021 on Controlling Community Activities in the Prevention of The Spread of COVID-19 in the Eid al-Fitr Holiday period from May 12 to 16, 2021.

The Mayor explained that the event was held virtually as a way of glorifying the name of Allah SWT in welcoming Muslims around the world in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic that is still sweeping.

"Of course also to prevent crowds in mosques or mosques in doing takbiran", said the Mayor.

The Mayor also again reminded the public to perform Eid prayer at home and if it should be done outside the house either in mosques or open fields not to forget the implementation of health protocols to prevent COVID-19.

"Not only done by the committee or task force COVID-19 but also done by every worshipper who follows the Eid Prayer", said the Mayor at the event which was also attended by Deputy Mayor H Sachrudin and Ustadz Yusuf Mansur.
