AI Veo 3 Video Maker Now Supports Vertical Video Format

JAKARTA Google added new format support to Veo 3, a video maker based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) which is currently popular in a number of countries. Now, the tool supports a vertical video format.

This format is identical to video playback on mobile devices with a 9:16 aspect ratio. There are many video platforms that support vertical formats, such as TikTok, Reels Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

This new format also comes on Veo 3 Fast, a faster and more affordable version of the video model. This support aims to meet the needs of content on social media.

Google says that this vertical video support is enabled through the aspect Ratio parameters. This shows that the vertical format is specially presented for developers who integrate Veo 3 into their apps.

"Just set the 'asspectRatio' parameters to '9:16' and you are ready to act," Google said, quoted on Wednesday, September 10. "With this release, we are making applications that support making high-quality videos more affordable."

In addition to launching new Google format support, it also adds an update that allows users to generate videos with a resolution of 1080p. This increase is much higher than the previous limit, which is the 720p resolution.

Google also states that Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast are now more 'stable and ready for large-scale production usage at Gemini API'. This provides more flexibility for app developers.

This update is actually not surprising, considering Google has announced plans to integrate Veo 3 into YouTube Shorts. With this access, we will see more vertical content generated by AI.
