Ford Plans To Create The Most Powerful Desert Supercars For Porsche And Lamborghini
JAKARTA Ford Motor Company may be planning its newest most radical project: a solar supercar 1,000 designed specifically for speeding up the desert.
This idea came directly from Ford CEO Jim Farley, who saw a gap in the supercar market which he considered "too saturated" with similar models.
In the recent Bloomberg 's Hot Pursuit' podcast episode, quoted from Autoweek, Wednesday, September 10, Farley revealed that he wants to challenge well-known supercar producers like Porsche with 911 Dakar or Lamborghini with Hurac total Sterrato. However, he insists that Ford's creations will be something completely different and never before.
"I'm thinking about it, and thinking about it deeply, and usually it will turn into something," he said.

Details about this project are still very limited, because at this time it was only an idea in Farley's mind. Even so, he mentioned his desire to embed a hybrid 1.000-hp powered engine under the hood. Although the type of engine is uncertain, many parties speculate that this could be an electrification variant of the V8 800 hp machine currently used in the Mustang GTD.
In addition to large-powered engines, Farley also leaked some features that may be present, such as suspensions that can be set to adjust altitude and subsidence while driving, as well as special arrangements for drivers and racing versions that are ready to compete. However, the main goal is to create an optimal car for high speeds in sandy and gravel terrain, just like a rally car.
Ford himself is not a newcomer to the off-road racing world. They have a brilliant history with various victories in prestigious events such as Baja 1000, King of the Hammers, and recently grabbed the podium on the Dakar Rally. This success proves that Ford has a strong off-road racing DNA, which can be a solid foundation for this desert supercar project.
