After Being Fired By The Minister, Budi Arie Admitted That He Still Supported Prabowo

JAKARTA - The day after the Red and White Cabinet reshuffle, former Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Budi Arie Setiadi emphasized that he would continue to support President Prabowo Subianto's government, even though his name was removed from the position of minister of cooperatives.

"Always (support Prabowo), our people who won (during the 2024 election)," said Budi, after handing over official positions to Ferry Juliantono, at the Kemenkop Office, Jakarta, Tuesday 9 September.

In his speech, Budi paid tribute to President Prabowo's decision to reshuffle leadership in several ministries, including the Ministry of Cooperatives.

"With gratitude, of course I really respect this decision. My service to the nation as the minister of cooperatives has ended, and now Mr. Ferry Julianto as the new minister of cooperatives," he said.

Budi believes that Ferry Juliantono has sufficient ability and experience to lead the Kemenkop because he previously served as deputy minister of cooperatives.

"He is certainly not a new person, he already understands very well for cooperatives," added Budi.

Budi Arie hopes that a number of strategic programs that run under his leadership, such as the Red and White Villages Cooperative (Kopdes), can become the foundation for new leadership to strengthen the dignity of Indonesian cooperatives.

"I believe that with Pak Ferry's capacity and ability, the programs we have built will be continued and even further developed. I am proud to have stood in this line with all of you, Indonesian cooperative fighters," said Budi.

At the end of his remarks, Budi Arie also apologized for all his shortcomings during his tenure, while hoping that the new leadership could bring Indonesia's cooperatives more advanced and inclusive
