Bahlil: Golkar Still Discussing Candidates to Replace Adies Kadir in the House of Representatives

JAKARTA - Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia emphasized that his party has not yet made a decision on who will replace Adies Kadir as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR). Golkar is still discussing the name of a candidate to replace Adies, who was officially removed from his position.

"Not yet. We're still discussing it," Bahlil said when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 9.

When asked further about the possibility of an interim replacement (PAW) for Adies Kadir, Bahlil did not provide a definitive answer.

"We'll see," he added briefly.

Previously, the Golkar Party made a surprising move by removing Adies Kadir from his position as Deputy Speaker of the DPR and a council member.

Golkar Secretary General Sarmuji explained that the decision was made after observing the political dynamics and the wave of demonstrations that occurred in several regions, including Jakarta.

With no certainty regarding Adies Kadir's replacement, the public is now awaiting Golkar's next steps. The replacement for the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives from the Golkar faction is predicted to be a key figure in maintaining the party's strategic position in parliament.
