Foreign Minister Sugiono Welcomes The Arrival Of The Body Of The Indonesian Diplomat Zetro Leonardo Purba

JAKARTA - Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono directly welcomed the arrival of the body of Indonesian diplomat Zetro Leonardo Purba at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten.

The KLM aircraft with flight number KL809 carrying Zetro's coffin landed at Soetta Airport at around 18:05.

The coffin was immediately taken to Human Remains Transit Lounge Soetta Airport. The arrival of the body was greeted directly by Foreign Minister Sugiono before being handed over to the family.

"In the afternoon, we welcome the body of Zetro's brother. We all, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, feel deeply saddened by the loss and events," Foreign Minister Sugiono told the media, Tuesday, September 9.

"Hopefully he will get the best place in the side of God Almighty and the family left behind can be given strength and fortitude," he added.

Zetro's body was immediately taken by the family at around 19:45 WIB. The plan is that the body will be buried at the Sentosa Funeral Home. On Thursday, Zetro's body will be taken to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the last respects.

The plan is that the final tribute will be held at the Roeslan Abdul Gani Building Lobby, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta on Thursday, September 11 at around 10:00 WIB.

After that, Zetro's body was planned to be buried at Sari Mulya Cemetery, Babakan Village, Setu District, South Tangerang in the afternoon.

As previously reported, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the death of the Indonesian Embassy in Lima Zetro Leonardo Purba. The deceased was the victim of an unknown party shooting while riding a bicycle in the Av area. CESar Vallejo, Agile, Lima on Monday 1 September. Spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela said Zetro's body had undergone an autopsy on September 2 and was completed on the same day.

"The Indonesian Embassy in Lima has coordinated with Peruvian officials, especially the police, to oversee the investigation process to get a motive for the incident," said Nabyl.

Nabyl revealed that the Peruvian Police were making various efforts, collecting evidence, securing surveillance camera footage from the scene to coordinating with the local prosecutor's office.

"The Indonesian Embassy in Lima has submitted a diplomatic note to the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to request that the process of handling this case get great attention," he said.

Nabyl added that the Indonesian Embassy in Lima paid high attention to the families of the victims, moved them to a safer place, received supervision and security by the Peruvian police.
