SROJA And KUDUNG Present In South Africa By Opening The First Store In Johannesburg

JAKARTA - After successfully penetrating the international markets in Europe such as the Netherlands and Switzerland, Sroja Warna Indonesia (SWI) has again taken major steps through its two flagship fashion brands, SROJA and KUDUNG, by inaugurating the opening of its first contract store at The Style Loft, Nelson Mandela Square, Johannesburg, South Africa. This presence marks an important milestone because it became the first Indonesian fashion brand in 30 years to officially be present in South Africa.

This expansion step has the full support of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Pretoria and the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), as well as strengthening Indonesia's role in the global fashion map.

"This is a historic event because after 30 years finally there is an Indonesian fashion brand that enters South Africa, namely SROJA and KUDUNG under the auspices of the Sroja Warna Indonesia group. Hopefully in the future SWI can continue to grow and open branches in other cities in South Africa," said Starlet Y. Koenardi, Coordinator of Economic Functions, Indonesian Embassy in Pretoria, quoted Friday, September 5.

Market survey results in May 2025 showed that SROJA and KUDUNG products have strong competitiveness in South Africa, both in terms of design, material quality, and price. Johannesburg and Pretoria, as multicultural centers with dynamic local populations and entrants, become strategic markets for fashion fashion and elegant contemporary styles.

Appreciation also came from Thandiwe Fadane, a representative of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Africa. He considered the presence of SROJA and KUDUNG as a symbol of friendship between the two countries.

Today we are witnessing the development of good relations between Indonesia and South Africa in terms of investment that has become real with the presence of SROJA and KUDUNG in our country. Hopefully this collaboration can continue to be well established, especially seeing that the collections of these two brands are very suitable for our style and culture," he explained.

Farizki Putra, Brand Manager of Sroja Warna Indonesia, emphasized that this expansion is a strategic as well as meaningful step.

The presence of SROJA and KUDUNG in Johannesburg, South Africa is a form of commitment from Sroja Warna Indonesia to continue to develop not only domestically but also in the world fashion market. What SWI does is not only business expansion, but also a symbol of Indonesian cultural diplomacy through fashion," he said.

At the inauguration of the store in Johannesburg, Sroja Warna Indonesia presented two of the newest collections that were previously successfully introduced at Indonesia Fashion Week 2025. SROJA brings Tejasvi, this collection features a modern design line with a brave golden accent, reflecting on strength, confidence, and eternal luxury.

With the presence of SROJA and KUDUNG in South Africa, Sroja Warna Indonesia not only brings fashion products, but also build cultural bridges between Indonesia and South Africa. This step is expected to be the opening door for more and more Indonesian creative works that penetrate the global market, as well as introduce the beauty and wealth of Indonesian values through the universal language of fashion.
