The Construction Of Septic Tanks In 4 North Jakarta Villages Is Constrained By Land

JAKARTA - The North Jakarta City Government continues to intensify the construction of septic tanks in several areas. The reason is, it gives us 4 urban villages in North Jakarta that do not yet have septic tanks

"The Penjaringan, Cilincing, Kalibaru, and Marunda sub-districts still do not have septic tanks due to land limitations," said Assistant for Public Administration and Welfare, M. Andri when confirmed, Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

Andri said, in the four urban villages, some still have open latrines. This is due to limited land to build a general toilet or communal septic tank.

"The problem is that the land is indeed land, because there is not much land that can be used for the public," he said

In addition, many residents in the four urban villages have insufficient houses to build septic tanks independently.

"Then, the two people whose houses are on average are small, so septic tanks are made a bit difficult," he said.

Therefore, Andri targets that by the end of 2025, the four urban villages in North Jakarta will be free from open latrines.

"That's why we make a communal solution so we can work together. Second, involve CSR to help, because many are unable to make septic tanks," said Andri.

Just so you know, most of the houses in Kampung Deret RT 13, RW O4, Cilincing, North Jakarta do not yet have septic tanks. This area is divided into two parts, land and seafront.

For houses that are actually on the mainland, permanent buildings and have septic tanks are dominated. Meanwhile, houses that are on the seafront do not have septic tanks.
