Police Arrest 13 In Suspected Stabbing Of 13-year-sized Man
JAKARTA - Police are still investigating the shooting of the vehicle of Maybrat Police Chief Kompol Bernadus Okoka. There were no casualties in this incident.
West Papua Police Chief Kombes Adam Erwindi said continuous gunfire against the vehicle of Police Chief Maybrat Kompol Bernadus Okoka was still under investigation.
"The incident occurred while the Maybrat Police Chief's entourage was on their way home after distributing food to the people of Kampung Aisya East Aifat District," he told reporters on Wednesday, May 12.
Maybrat Police Chief's entourage was attacked with three explosions of firearms from the right while the group was on a bridge, Far East Aifat District.
Of the three shots, he said, one hit the right front rearview mirror of Fortuner's car and another hit the car's body.
"The group of officers had returned fire in the direction of the perpetrator of the shooting," Kombes Adam said.
"As a result of this incident there were no injuries or fatalities. For motive and who did it is still under investigation," he continued.
He stressed that West Papua Police Chief Irjen Tornagogo Sihombing gave special attention to the ranks of the Maybrat Police to increase vigilance while performing their duties and in investigating the motives behind the terror shooting.
"This is a special concern of the West Papua Police to all police ranks in order to increase vigilance in the task," explained Kombes Adam.
