BMKG: The Majority Of Big Cities In Indonesia Are Raining Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) estimates that the majority of major cities in Indonesia have the potential to experience light rain on Tuesday, September 9.

BMKG Miftah Ali weather forecasters said that for Sumatra Island, thick clouds are expected to occur in Banda Aceh City, then light rain is predicted to occur in Pekanbaru, Padang, and Tanjung Pinang, as well as heavy rains are predicted in Medan City.

In addition, he continued, light rain is expected to fall in Jambi City, Bengkulu, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung. Then he estimates Pangkal Pinang will have rain driven.

As for Java, he said, thick clouds are expected to occur in Surabaya, then light rain in Serang, Bandung, Semarang, and Yogyakarta, as well as moderate rain is expected to fall in Jakarta.

For the areas of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, light rain is expected to occur in the cities of Kupang and Mataram.

"Be aware of the rain accompanied by lightning that is expected to occur in Denpasar City," said Miftah Ali, quoted by ANTARA.

For Kalimantan Island, he continued, light rain is expected to fall in Samarinda, then moderate rain is expected in Tanjung Selor. He also asked the public in Pontianak, Palangkaraya, and Banjarmasin to be vigilant because it was predicted that the rain would be driven.

On the island of Sulawesi, he said, light rain is expected in the cities of Gorontalo, Makassar, and Kendari, then moderate rain is expected in the cities of Manado and Palu, as well as heavy rain is predicted in Mamuju City.

Meanwhile, for eastern Indonesia, Merauke is expected to be cloudy, light rain is expected to fall in Ternate, Ambon, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayapura, and Jayawijaya, as well as moderate rain is expected to fall in Sorong City.
