BRI Merchant Transaction Volume Increases 27.2 Percent, Reaches IDR 105.5 Trillion

JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk recorded a positive performance in the merchant segment in the first half of 2025.

The sales or sales volume value of merchants reached IDR 105.5 trillion, growing 27.2 percent year on year (yoy) compared to the same period the previous year.

This increase is also reflected in the average sales per merchant which rose 62.5 percent yoy.

BRI Network & Retail Funding Director Aquarius Rudianto revealed that the growth of BRI merchant transactions shows the stronger confidence of business actors in BRI digital services.

In addition, transactions through QRIS BRI recorded a significant growth with a transaction value of 142.9 percent yoy in the first semester of 2025. The average transaction value per store increased by 141.5 percent yoy.

Meanwhile, in terms of frequency, the number of QRIS transactions also shot up 162.5 percent yoy

To further facilitate customer experience, BRI presents the main innovation of QRIS in BRImo, namely QRIS Crossborder which allows customers to conduct cross-border transactions in Singapore (Nets QR), Malaysia (DuitNow), and Japan (JPQR) by simply scanning local QR.

In addition, there is also a QRIS feature with credit card funding sources that provides flexibility for customers to choose BRI credit cards as a source of payment funds, especially for large transactions.

BRI also simplifies the user experience by presenting all QRIS-based services, ranging from QRIS Pay, QRIS Transfer, to QRIS Tap, in an integrated QRIS menu so that transactions become faster, more practical, and efficient.

"QRIS has become one of the main instruments for the public and merchants in digital transactions. The surge in the use of QRIS in BRI not only expands access to non-cash payments, but also supports economic efficiency as a whole," said Aquarius.
