Prabowo Claims The Economy Remains Stable Despite Being Rocked By Demo Leads To Riots
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto highlighted Indonesia's stable economic condition despite being rocked by demonstrations that led to chaos.
Prabowo, in a meeting with representatives of the mass media in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, Saturday (6/9) considered this because of the rational awareness of the nation and state, by always prioritizing the interests of the nation and people above the interests of the group.
"Yesterday there was a demonstration shock which eventually became a riot, but it turns out that our economy is still stable," Prabowo said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 8.
"So I increasingly believe that if all Indonesian elites have a rational awareness of the nation and state, by always prioritizing the interests of the nation and people above the interests of the group, I believe we will rise faster," he added.
Prabowo said he believed that Indonesia's economic and political fundamentals were quite strong and solid. All economic indicators show that there is a strength in the Indonesian economy.
The President said that all programs whose government had designed had shown tangible results.
"Free Nutrition Food has reached 25 million beneficiaries. We hope that according to the December plan it will reach 82.9 million. Even if it's not December, I believe January (2026) will arrive. But we don't care, we don't have to force ourselves too much, we are sure about the strategy we have taken," said Prabowo.

"It turns out that the economy in villages and sub-districts is growing rapidly, the exchange rate of farmers is increasing quite sharply, farmers' income has increased, of course. We have achieved a lot of progress," continued the President.
Finally, the Head of State asked the people to mature in responding to the circulating narratives that were not in accordance with the conditions in Indonesia.
"Overall, I am optimistic, I strongly believe that the narrative by the parties who want to cause an impression as if the people are angry and so on, I think our people are adults, our people still feel a lot of shortcomings, that's what we all want to overcome," concluded Prabowo.
