JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections (Kumham Imipas) Yusril Ihza Mahendra said that the realization of all points in 17+8 of the People's Demands required time for improvement.
Therefore, not all demands can be realized by the government and the House of Representatives (DPR) in the near future.
Yusril explained that demands that have not been realized include improvements to existing laws and regulations.
"But basically the government is giving a positive response to the demands of our people to make various improvements which so far have been deemed insufficient and urged to make improvements and improvements," said Yusril as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 8.
That way, against several demands that can be immediately followed up, he said, the government would do so, such as explaining to the public regarding the response and coordination.
Likewise with the demands of improving law enforcement officials (APH), he emphasized that this has become a commitment for the government to continue to make improvements and improvements.
Therefore, it is hoped that APH will carry out its duties in line with the applicable legal corridors and prioritize aspects of respect, recognition, and protection of human rights (HAM).
Although not all demands are addressed to the government because some are addressed to the DPR, Yusril believes that the Parliament will also provide a positive response to the demands of the people.
