Following a Call With the Palestinian PM, the British Foreign Secretary Contacted the Saudi Counterpart to Discuss Middle East Stability.
JAKARTA - Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, received a phone call from the newly appointed British Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper.
The Saudi Press Agency reported that in the phone call on Sunday, September 7, the two ministers discussed developments in the Middle East and efforts to maintain stability.
Prince Faisal also congratulated Cooper on his new position.
He expressed his hope that Saudi Arabia and the UK would continue their cooperation in enhancing peace efforts in the Middle East and globally.
Before calling the Saudi Foreign Minister, British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper first contacted Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa.
In the phone call, the two discussed efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and address attacks by Israeli occupation forces and settlers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
