President Trump Wants Foreign Companies To Train And Employ United States Citizens
JAKARTA - President Donald Trump said on Sunday foreign companies needed to recruit and train US workers and respect immigration laws, following an immigration raid in Georgia last week.
South Korea is moving to pick up about 300 South Koreans detained after the raid. Overall, US federal agents arrested about 475 workers at the Hyundai car battery factory in Ellabell, Georgia, on Thursday last week.
"Following the Immigration Enforcement Operation at the Aki Hyundai Factory in Georgia, I hereby urge all foreign companies investing in the United States to respect our country's Immigration Law," President Trump wrote at Truth Social.
"Your investment was well received, and we encourage you to legally bring your very intelligent people, with great technical talent, to build world-class products, and we will allow you to do so quickly and legally. In return, we ask you to recruit and train American Workers," he continued.
President Trump posted the post shortly after telling reporters he would review what happened, but the incident did not damage his relationship with the Ginseng Country.
He also suggested that he would consider the possibility of allowing some foreign manufacturing experts into the country to help train Uncle Sam's country workers.
