As A Witness, The Debris Of Transjakarta Facilities Was Damaged Due To Riots In The Demonstration At The Senen Bus Stop

JAKARTA - The Transjakarta Senen Central Bus Stop, Senen, Central Jakarta, has now changed its name to the Jakarta Guard Bus Stop. Not without a intention, the name change after the repair of this bus stop was carried out after the riots in a series of demonstrations at the end of last August.

There is something that attracts attention at this bus stop. In the middle of the Jakarta Guard Bus Stop area, it appears that the remains of the facility at the bus stop were damaged and burned which were collected in a box like a collection of historical museums.

The debris that Transjakarta collected included a tap in-out card, a fan, an LED television that broadcasts the bus route, to ceramic shards and building materials.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that the rest of the demonstration riots were deliberately gathered so that the public would remember the damage to public facilities due to the dark incident.

"With the existing memorables, which were created, it was intentional, our discussion with the Director of Transjakarta so that the Memorable reminded that in this place an event had occurred that hopefully would never happen again for Jakarta residents," said Pramono at the Jakarta Guard Stop, Central Jakarta, Senen, September 8.

At the storefront of the debris at the Transjakarta bus stop facility, there is a record of timeline damage. It was recorded that on August 29, 2025, a number of Transjakarta bus stops were burned and damaged due to the unknown mass vandalism.

Then on September 30, 2025, TranJakarta began mapping the affected area and the officers immediately fixed the affected bus stop. Then on September 1, 2025, residents worked hand in hand to clean up the debris left over from the fire and damage to the bus stop after the hot situation in Jakarta subsided.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government noted that 22 Transjakarta bus stops, both in the corridor (BRT) and non-BRT, were affected. 6 of them were burned by an unknown crowd. Then, 16 bus stops were damaged and scribbled on due to vandalism.

Meanwhile, currently all Transjakarta services have been operating normally. This includes the stops that were burned and damaged again while repairs were being carried out.

On that occasion, Pramono explained the reason why Jaga Jakarta was chosen as the new name for the Central Senen Bus Stop. Pramono wants the Jakarta Guard Stop to be a reminder to all parties not to let public facilities be damaged when riots occur in the capital city.

This movement was originally campaigned by the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government and regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) after a number of public facilities were damaged and burned by an unknown crowd during a series of demonstrations at the end of last August.

"This change is of course with the intention that we all protect Jakarta together. It is impossible to keep Jakarta only carried out by the government without the involvement of the community's participation completely," Pramono explained.
