Trump Gives Last Warning To Hamas To Accept Hostage Deal
JAKARTA - United States President Donald Trump on Sunday issued what he called a "last warning" to Hamas, urging the Palestinian militant group to accept an agreement to release hostages from Gaza.
"Israel has accepted my terms. It's time for Hamas to also accept," President Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.
"I have warned Hamas about the consequences if it does not receive. This is my last warning, there will be no other warning!" he said.
Earlier, Israel's N12 News reported on Saturday that President Trump had submitted a new ceasefire proposal to Hamas.
Under the deal, Hamas will release the remaining 48 hostages on the first day of the ceasefire in exchange for thousands of Palestinian prisoners imprisoned in Israel and negotiate a halt to the war during the ceasefire in the enclave, according to N12.
Separately, an Israeli official said Israel was "considering seriously" President Trump's proposal but did not specify details.
Meanwhile, the Hamas group said in a subsequent statement it had accepted some ideas from the United States through mediators to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
