Starting Heritage, Welcoming Celebration On PSIM's 96th Anniversary Yogyakarta

YOGYAKARTA A warm and family atmosphere enveloped the celebration of PSIM Jogja's 96th Anniversary. Friday, September 5, 2025, management, coaching team, and players gathered at Wisma PSIM to hold a cut cone and prayer together, as a peak of gratitude for the increasing age.

In his remarks, Wendy Umar Seno Aji, who represented PSIM President Director Yuliana Tasno, expressed her appreciation to the entire team. According to him, the extraordinary achievement achieved by Laskar Mataram to this day is the fruit of the hard work and discipline of all parties.

Thank you and appreciation to all the ranks of the coaching team and players. Alhamdulillah PSIM is extraordinary. Hopefully this achievement will not stop here. We will continue to move with PSIM," he said.

Wendy also explained the deep meaning behind the theme of this birthday, 'Starting Heritage, Welcoming Celebration'. He emphasized that PSIM has a historical responsibility as one of the seven PSSI founding clubs.

"It is said that guarding the legacy is because this PSIM is one of the seven founders of PSSI. At the age of 96, finally one of the founders of PSSI was able to join the highest caste," he said.

Synergy And Development For The Sake Of The Big Name Of PSIM

One tangible manifestation of the maturity of the club and supporters is the decision to abolish the annual celebration at the Jogja Monument. Wendy explained that this decision was taken through synergy and close coordination between the management, the Brajamusti and The Maident supporters group, and the police in order to maintain the conduciveness of Yogyakarta.

He told how the management and organizing committee helped the security forces until early morning to urge supporters not to gather. This step was taken for the common good, especially to maintain the smooth licensing of PSIM home matches in the future.

"Thanks to the support of Brajamusti and The Maident, management friends and the organizing committee, we are helping the police for us to engineer traffic and we urge our supporters not to come because this will have an impact on the security licensing of the home game," he said. Closing his message, Wendy left the big name Laskar Mataram to the players and coaches.

Meanwhile, Rendra Teddy, who represents the players, voiced the collective hopes of the team. "Hopefully all of our hopes, PSIM will be more compact and solid, and always successful. Hopefully what we are proud of for the community can be achieved," he said.
