Bulog Moves 7 Distribution Channels, Ensures Rice Distributed To The Community

JAKARTA - President Director of Perum Bulog Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani emphasized his party's commitment to distributing the maximum possible rice to the public. According to him, currently Bulog has moved seven distribution channels.

First, Bulog cooperates with retailers throughout traditional markets. Second, Bulog distributes through the Red and White Villages Cooperative (Kopdes Merah Putih).

"Thirdly, we distribute it through other government institutions," said Rizal while reviewing the DKI Jakarta & Banten Bulog Rice Warehouse on Jalan Pelepah Raya, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Saturday, September 6.

Not only civil government agencies, Bulog also synergizes with the TNI/Polri for the assignment. Fifth, Bulog distributes it through food SOE outlets, such as PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN), ID Food and Pegadaian. There is also an outlet fostered by Bulog itself as the sixth channel.

The seventh channel is through modern retail. He admitted that distribution cannot be directly distributed to all regions. Assistance from various stakeholders is needed so that distribution can reach remote areas.

"And yesterday we also carried out a low-cost food movement simultaneously with 7,000 points where the outlet was sold. Thank God, this had a tremendous impact," he said.

As for today, the rice distributed for the Stabilization of Supply and Food Prices (SPHP) has touched the figure of 327,718 tons. According to him, this achievement is due to the synergy of all stakeholders, both the central government, regional, TNI/Polri, BUMN and other parties.

Rizal emphasized that as a food SOE that has the mandate to maintain national supply stability and food prices, Perum Bulog is committed to continuing to ensure that rice is managed and distributed in the best condition. Thus, public trust in the availability, affordability and quality of national food is maintained.

Currently, Perum Bulog controls a rice stock of 3.9 million tons. Of this amount, around 2.95 million tons or 75 percent come from domestic procurement. The rest is fulfilled through foreign procurement or imports based on government assignments at the end of 2024.
