Minister Of Industry Asks Bali Provincial Government To Continue Adding IKM Centers

DENPASAR - Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita asked the Bali Provincial Government to continue to add small and medium industrial centers (IKM) in Bali.

This was conveyed when visiting the Bali Bangkit IKM Exhibition at the Art Center Cultural Park, Denpasar, Saturday, where Bali only has four points known for example, such as the silver IKM center in Gianyar and bamboo in Bangli.

"There are quite a lot of IKM centers that we have formed in Indonesia and in Bali yesterday I was told that there are four IKM centers, maybe later the governor's expansion, there can be more IKM centers prepared," said the Minister of Industry.

Agus Gumiwang explained that IKMs must get attention, especially solving problems that are often underestimated.

Several things must be considered, such as capital issues, market access, and engine restructuring, so that the government is asked to provide a forum so that IKMs are not trapped.

"Because this is a classic, it should not be considered a problem that does not need to be found a solution, sometimes we humans see this as a classic problem so there is no need to find a solution, we must find a solution," said Agus Gumiwang.

"So that they (IKM) can carry out the production process more efficiently, so that production can be better, these are things that the government always thinks about because small industries are our backbone," he continued.

While walking through the Bali Bangkit IKM Exhibition which is also a center for Balinese crafts, Minister of Industry Agus gave support through the purchase of various types of typical products, from paintings, jewelry, endek fabrics, and crafts.

He is happy because the Bali Provincial Government provides a forum for IKM and performs good curation for the products made.

After the IKM center, pay attention to the products that the craftsmen want to present so that they have high quality are also appreciated, because this will increase the selling value of products that have an impact on the Balinese and national economy in the end.

There, the Minister of Industry and his wife bought a typical yellow Balinese endek cloth, various crafts, and jewelry for the wife's birthday present.

"The yellow color (the cloth he bought) is relative, the important thing is that the design is good the color can be red, it can be yellow, there are lots of crafts, there are also a lot of jewelry, but because I'm a man who doesn't really wear jewelry, so my wife was the one who bought a lot of jewelry," he said while saying he was reluctant to divulge the total value of Balinese crafts purchased.
