Haji Bet Robbed By Armed Herd In Bukittinggi Sumbar, Rp200 Million Vanished
BUKITTINGGI - The robbery took place in Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra, ahead of Lebaran with the victim of a daily goods dealer on his way home.
A well-known trader in Bukittinggi, Haji Bet (66), was hit and robbed by a gang of robbers on his way home on Tuesday, May 11 at 11:45 p.m.

Based on witness statements in the field, said Kasat Reskrim, victims haji Bet who used to trade daily goods in The Banto Market Bukittinggi City was about to go home with his son, Budi (40), using a motorcycle vario type gray color.
They are known to have an address in Kampung Pulasan, Mandiangin Subdistrict, Koto Selayan.
"On the way home, precisely on Merapi Street, the two victims were picked up by three perpetrators who were wearing one motorcycle vehicle," said AKP Allan Budi Kusumah.
After that, there was a tug-of-war between the victim's bag which resulted in both the victim and the perpetrator falling from their respective vehicles.
"After the victim fell, three perpetrators immediately committed violence against the victim by hitting the victim. Two of the perpetrators pointed firearm-like objects at the victim," AKP Allan said.
The perpetrator managed to take money belonging to the victim from the proceeds of trading around Rp200 Million as well as the victim's belongings in the form of gold jewelry.
After the action, they fled towards the Kabun Gate of Bukittinggi City.
"At the time of the escape, the perpetrator was chased by the public at the scene. However, all three managed to escape," Allan said.
Furthermore, it hunted down the three suspects and conducted an investigation. Victim Haji Bet is currently being treated at Achmad Muchtar Hospital (RSAM) Bukittinggi City with his son who suffered a broken bone in his right hand.
