In Front Of The Minister Of Social Affairs, Budi's Father, Victim Of Burning The Makassar DPRD Office, Questions The Cost Of Living Family

Saharuddin Daeng Sarring, Budi Haryadi's father, one of the victims of the burning of the Makassar City DPRD office who is currently struggling in the ICU room of Primaya Hospital, told Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf about his son's handling.

"I conveyed to the minister how will it be (his son) if God wants (safe from critical). Of course, this recovery requires a long process. After being discharged from the hospital, how will it go," he said after meeting the Minister of Social Affairs with representatives of other victims in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Friday, September 5, 2025.

Quoting ANTARA, Saharuddin was invited along with other family representatives who were victims of the burning incident of the Makassar DPRD at the funeral home, the victim Rusdamdiansyah alias Dandi (26), an online motorcycle taxi driver who was beaten by the masses because he was suspected of being intelligence.

The man who is familiarly called Daeng Sarring hopes that the government will continue to pay attention to the victim and his family. Because, Budi is the backbone of the family and already has two young children, of course, it takes a living expenses.

"The treatment until now is still guaranteed by BPJS Kesehatan. But how will the costs of their children who are still in first grade and fourth grade elementary school, as well as the cost of living later, even though they still live with me. We hope there will be support," he hoped.

He explained that Budi worked as a member of the Satpol PP who was assigned to the Tallo District Office. He started entering in 2016. His status is now a Government Employee with a part-time Work Agreement (PPPK). To increase income, Budi also asked to become an online motorcycle taxi driver (Ojol) Grab.

When asked about Budi's current condition, he said that his progress was not yet fully conscious, but there was still an increase and no request was made.

"The condition is not fully conscious, but occasionally he talks and not everyone he recognizes. The condition of his legs and body is good, but his head is not yet, because his head was hit (heavy injury) at that time. We have not referred it, we fully leave it to Primaya Hospital. Please pray for it," he said.

At the time of the burning of the Makassar DPRD Office on Friday (29/8) night, the victim Budi Haryadi was desperate to jump from the top floor of the building when the fire began to burn the room. The victim reportedly died in the hospital, but the information and news were not true.

Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf during his visit said that all victims were given protection and social security, including providing compensation of Rp. 15 as well as for three victims who died and Rp. 5 million for each injured person. In addition, there is a rehabilitation and social empowerment program

"As a follow-up to the government's attention, we provide compensation and other necessary things as part of social protection and security," he said accompanied by South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman at Dandi's funeral home.

From this incident, BPBD Makassar launched eight victims, three people died, namely ASN respectively, Syaiful Akbar, Acting Head of Welfare Office of Ujung Tanah District, Sarinawati and Muhammad Akbar Basri as staff of the Makassar DPRD Secretariat and five others were seriously and moderately injured.
