Residents Near Ahmad Sahroni's House Claim Not To Recognize The Face Of The Prison Provocateur

JAKARTA - A number of residents of Jalan Swasembada 22, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta do not yet know who the provocateurs who were desperate to storm the house of an inactive DPR RI member Ahmad Sahroni a few days ago.

Although there were many amateur video recordings circulating, none of the residents around Ahmad Sahroni's house recognized the perpetrators of the destruction of houses and looting.

"We don't know about the provocateur problem yet. There is no information yet on who the provocateur is," said Mahmud (39), a portal guard near Ahmad Sahroni's house, Friday, September 5, 2025.

Mahmud said that on average, the perpetrators of the attack on Ahmad Sahroni's house did not recognize his face by local residents.

"If we look at the word naked, we seem to be from outside. There are no local residents. In fact, he (Ahmad Sahroni) is a good person, always looks after and is familiar with the residents. So if it's to loot the residents themselves, I don't think they have the heart, because he's a good person," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the looters at Ahmad Sahroni's house, residents asked that the goods be returned immediately.

"The point is that for the looting, if it can be reversed, don't arrest them. Because they are also like looting is unethical. Just return the goods," he said.

Just so you know, Bareskrim Polri has named seven suspects in cases of spreading provocative content through social media related to protests that led to chaos.

One of them invited the public to loot the house of a non-active member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Ahmad Sahroni, and the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani.

"We have received 5 police reports which we then followed up with arresting 7 suspects," said the Director of Cyber Crime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General Himawan Bayu Aji, quoted Thursday, September 4.

The suspect has the initials IS (39). The content of the invitation with provocative elements was conveyed through the TikTok account @hs02775.

In the content he uploaded, the suspect incited the public to loot several members of the DPR, namely, Ahmad Sahroni, Eko Hendro Purnomo alias Eko Patrio, Surya Utama alias Uya Kuya, and Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Puan Maharani.
