Eight Helicopter Victims Fall Arriving At DVI Pos Motem Polda South Kalimantan

A total of eight helicopter victims fell in the early hours of Friday, at around 02.40 WITA arriving at the DVI Post of the South Kalimantan Regional Police's Motem Biddokkes Post in Banjarmasin.

Quoted from ANTARA, Friday, there were six ambulances that delivered eight bodies of helicopter victims that fell in a mountainous forest area, Mentewe District, Tanah Bumbu.

Of the six ambulances carrying the bodies of the victims, there were five ambulances while one ambulance was escorted.

Every ambulance must enter alternately by looking back so that the back door of the car directly deals with the forensic installation room of the DVI Pos Mortem Biddokkes Polda South Kalimantan.

In the reduction of the body from the ambulance, the DVI Pos Mortem was assisted by partners from the South Kalimantan Basarnas and the South Kalimantan Police.

Previously, Basarnas Operations Director, First Admiral TNI Yudhi Bramantyo, said the joint SAR team found a helicopter carcass at point 03 deg 5 6 S 115 deg 37 39.07 E, a forest area around the Mandin Damar Waterfall, Mentewe District, Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, Wednesday afternoon.

Previously, On Scene Commander (OSC) had deployed all ground Search and Rescue Units (SRU) to the location of the discovery to strengthen the evacuation process.

The helicopter carcass was found this afternoon at 14:45 WITA. One victim has been evacuated dead, about 100 meters from the helicopter carcass. Meanwhile, seven more are still in the search process for helicopter carcasses," he said.

Yudhi emphasized that all joint SAR elements from Basarnas, TNI, Polri, BPBD, and potential SAR continue to work hard in the field with full support from the local community.

He said the burnt helicopter carcass was found about 700 meters from the coordinates previously provided by the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC).

Yudhi also emphasized that Basarnas was committed to continuing search and evacuation operations until all victims were successfully evacuated while still prioritizing the safety of personnel in the field.
