Two Men Who Died In Bursts At Citra Garden 8 Kalideres Housing Turned Out To Be Fathers And Children

JAKARTA - Two men who were burned to death in a fire incident at the Citra Garden 8 Cluster Aero Mansion luxury housing estate, Block n3, No 8, Pegadungan, Kalideres District, West Jakarta, Thursday, September 4, 2025, are father and son.

"The victim is father and son. Father of LA (50) and TY (20)," said Kalideres Police Chief of West Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Arnold Julius Simanjuntak when confirmed.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning at around 04.25 WIB.

Kompol Arnold explained that the results of the interim investigation revealed that the fire was triggered by an electrical short from the 1st floor of the victim's house.

The fire quickly spread to the 2nd floor, where the two occupants of the house were. Unfortunately, the two victims did not have time to save themselves because they were trapped in the fire.

"The first victim with the initials LA was found in the room on the 2nd floor. Meanwhile, the second victim, TY, was found near the front stairs of the victim's room," he said.

The victims of LA and TY are suspected of being caught in a fire because the window of the house was closed by iron trellis, making the exit closed and difficult to access.

Based on witness testimony, who was the victim's neighbor, he had tried to wake up the occupants of the house by throwing stones and wood.

The witness made this effort after hearing the sound of broken glass and seeing the puff of smoke. However, his efforts were fruitless.

The fire was extinguished at around 05.40 WIB. A total of 15 fire engines were dispatched to the location. After cooling, the two victims were evacuated and taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for a post-mortem.

Meanwhile, the location of the incident was installed with a police line.
