The DPRD Value Of The DKI Provincial Government Has Not Been Optimal In Enforcing Sanctions For Regional Regulation Violations In Jakarta

Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Khoirudin revealed the results of the DPRD's supervision of the implementation of a number of regional regulations (perda) in Jakarta.

Members of the council assessed that the DKI Provincial Government has not been optimal in enforcing the rules to the imposition of sanctions for violations of existing regional regulations.

This was conveyed by Khoirudin in the plenary meeting of the DKI Jakarta DPRD closing the trial period for 3 years of the 2024-2025 trial, as well as the opening of the 4th recess for the 2025-2026 session which was attended by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung.

"The results of the increase in the supervisory function show that there are still discrepancies in the implementation in the field, not optimal coordination between regional apparatus, and weak sanctions for violations of regional regulations," said Khoirudin at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Thursday, September 4.

Some of the regional regulations referred to by Khoirudin include Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2006 concerning the Education System, Regional Regulation Number 7 of 2007 concerning Public Order, Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2011 concerning the Protection of Women and Children from Violence.

Then, Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2015 concerning Preservation of Betawi Culture, as well as Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2019 concerning Amendments to Regional Regulation Number 3/2013 concerning Waste Management.

"Therefore, we are pointing at it so that the results of the supervision are immediately followed up by the relevant parties," said Khoirudin.

In the plenary meeting, Khoirudin also revealed that many ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government regional apparatus and the directors of DKI Jakarta regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) who are often absent from the DPRD work meeting to discuss work programs and budget designs for no apparent reason.

"There are several notes that in several meetings, both regional apparatus and BUMD have been invited by the DPRD but did not attend without clear confirmation," he said.

Therefore, Khoirudin asked all regional apparatus and BUMD directors to always be present at work meetings with the DPRD.

This is because their absence could hinder the operation of the supervisory function and discuss the substance of local government policies in Jakarta.

"We ask for serious attention from all regional apparatus and BUMD to attend the meeting with the DPRD," added Khoirudin.
