Demonstration At The Horse Statue Demands The Government To Pass The Asset Confiscation Bill
JAKARTA - Masses from various elements held a demonstration in the Thamrin area towards the Horse Statue area, Central Jakarta, Thursday, September 4, 2025. The action entitled 'People Sue' was centered in front of the Pustaka Hall, Central Jakarta.
The masses consisting of members of labor unions, students, farmers and a number of non-governmental organizations are estimated to reach more than 100 people.
They carried flags, banners, and speech while walking hand in hand. This action is a continuation of a series of demonstrations that have been going on since last August 25.
The Gebrak Alliance was compiled from a number of large organizations such as the Indonesian Trade Union Alliance Congress (KASBI), the Confederation of Indonesian Workers' Unions (KPBI), and the Indonesian Environmental Forum (WALHI), as well as trade unions and other students.
They demanded that the authorities stop repressive measures, release of the detained mass of action, lower public tax rates, lower food prices, and ratification of the Asset Confiscation Bill.
"Our action today does not want to provoke anyone. We want our demands, from the people, to be realized by the president," said one of the orators.

During the action, traffic flow on Jalan MH Thamrin and Jalan Kebon Sirih was observed to be a little delayed because some roads were used by the masses to walk. However, the Transjakarta bus stop in front of the Thamrin Tower is still operating normally.
Dozens of joint officers from the police and the TNI were seen on guard and escorting the demonstration along the route.
Long march was held back when the masses tried to continue their journey to the State Palace. A number of participants in the action brought flowers and negotiated with the police to be given access.
"Friends, because there is a vital national object, the route must be changed according to what has been agreed. Later field officers will direct it to the Horse Statue," said one police officer at the location.
