Goodbye, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Support Officially Ends
JAKARTA Samsung officially stopped the support period for the Galaxy Note 20. With the end of this support, there will be no more Note lines that will receive software updates from Samsung.
This support ends in accordance with a five-year update promise for the Galaxy Note 20 series. Now, Galaxy Note 20 and Note Ultra 20 users will not receive any more updates, including monthly or quarterly security updates.
This news is not surprising because the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are over five years old. This phone line was launched in August 2020 with the Android 10 operating system (OS). The latest OS introduced by Google is Android 16.
This shows that the phone is very old. Although the security support for the Galaxy Note 20 series has just been stopped, the phone's main OS support has expired for a long time. The last software this phone got was One UI 5.1 based on Android 13.

Even though the regular support ends, it's possible that Samsung will release an occasional surprise security update. The same thing happened to the Galaxy S20 which received a surprise security patch in July 2025.
However, this does not change the fact that official support has been discontinued. All Galaxy Note 20 users and Note Ultra 20 now need to consider a new phone because phones that are no longer receiving security updates will be more vulnerable.
In addition to the Note 20 series, support for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 has also ended. These two foldable phones will no longer receive security updates. However, because both of them are already running Android 15, this phone is still worth using.
