Tesla Returns To Success In China, Model Y L Raup 10,000 Orders Every Day
JAKARTA After facing a downward trend in sales, Tesla seems to have managed to rediscover its momentum in the Chinese market. Its newest model, Tesla Model Y L, has reportedly attracted tremendous interest with an average of nearly 10,000 orders per day since its launch.
According to a CnEVPost report, Thursday, September 4, since its launch on August 19, orders for the Y L Model have reached 120,000 units. This figure is in line with the findings of a number of analysts who recorded a significant spike in new orders.
Deutsche Bank, in a study, estimates Tesla's new order in China in August will increase by about 100 percent compared to the previous month, reaching 130,000 units. This rapid growth is said to be driven by the launch of Model Y L, a six-passer SUV with a longer wheelbase.

A source from the auto industry revealed that the high sales of the Model Y L showed a large market demand for a six-seater SUV. This is a breath of fresh air for Tesla, which is facing fierce competition from domestic brands in China.
In addition, pressure on overseas markets has also prompted Tesla to focus more intensively on the Chinese market.
Despite facing a decline in annual sales from October 2024 to August 2025 (except June), Tesla's performance in August 2025 showed a significant increase. According to data from the Chinese Passenger Car Association (CPCA), Tesla China sold 83,192 vehicles in August, an increase of 22.55 percent from July, although it fell 4.04 percent from the same period last year.
