US Open 2025: Anisimova Successfully Revenge On Swiatek

JAKARTA Amanda Anisimova looked stunning and managed to avenge a crushing defeat in the 2025 Wimbledon final against Iga Swiatek to reach the semifinals of the US Open 2025.

The eighth seed passed the quarter-finals beating Swiatek 6-4 and 6-3 at Flushing Meadows, United States, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, morning WIB.

Anisimova managed to play one of her best games after 53 days ago Swiatek destroyed his dream with a score of 6-0 and 6-0 to win the 2025 Wimbledon title.

"To get up from Wimbledon like that, it's really special to me. I worked really hard to try and turn things around. Today proved everything. I can do that," said Anisimova.

The 24-year-old's appearance is in stark contrast to the 2025 Wimbledon final. He looked confident, relaxed, and could produce 23 winners to get rid of the former world number one.

The strong blow and calm he showed at the Arthur Ashe Stadium against world number two and the 2022 US Open champion was very different from the All England Club Main Square on July 12, 2025.

While at Wimbledon 2025, the clashes between the two names lasted only 57 minutes. At that time, the enthusiasm only got 24 points, the number he had passed around the middle of the first set in the latest clashes.

"He didn't play well at Wimbledon, but he certainly wouldn't have made the same mistake or felt the same way," said Swiatek.

This is the third semifinal of the New Jersey-born player's career. Apart from the US Open and Wimbledon, he has also reached the same stage at the 2019 French Open (Roland Garros).
