JPFA Aims For Positive Performance Through MBG Programs And Tilapia Exports
JAKARTA - PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JPFA) sees opportunities for increased performance through two strategic sectors, namely the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program and exports of freshwater fish.
JPFA Director Rachmat Indrajaya said that the MBG program, which is one of President Prabowo Subianto's seeds, has the potential to have a positive impact on the company. JPFA has now been involved as a provider of raw materials in a number of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG).
"JPFA after this only supplied raw materials to several SPPGs. Either directly or indirectly. Indirectly is through surgery, there are also us directly in the kitchen," he said in a public expose, Wednesday, September 3.
On the other hand, JPFA is also targeting an increase in revenue from tilapia fish export activities to the United States (US) market because it is a type of fish that can only be cultivated in the tropics.
Head of Aquacultur Division Japfa Ardi Budiono said that the current market conditions are very profitable for Indonesia, especially after Tilapia from China was subject to a high import rate of 50 percent.
"Currently, our exports are still subject to a 19 percent tariff, but the tariff burden is borne by consumers in America. So far the market can still absorb it because there are no other suppliers that are quite strong," he said.
In terms of financial performance, JPFA recorded net sales of IDR 27.5 trillion in the first semester of 2025.
This figure decreased slightly compared to the same period last year which reached IDR 27.7 trillion.
However, the company's operating profit also decreased to IDR 2.1 trillion, compared to IDR 2.6 trillion in the previous year.
The livestock feed segment from the poultry sector is still the largest contributor, contributing 40 percent of total sales.
Followed by the commercial livestock segment at 31 percent, and the downstream sector (profession of livestock products and consumer products) at 10 percent.
