VOI Today: Compactly Use Pink-Green Profile Photos As A Form Of Protests To Prabowo's Government
JAKARTA - In the midst of political chaotic and heated demonstrations, a number of new wave of resistance emerged, not on the streets, but online.
In recent days, Indonesian social media has been filled with pink, green and navy blue colors. The movement is a visual campaign "Brave Pink, Hero Green and Resistance Blue".
Brave Pink was inspired by the color of Ibu Ana's headscarf, the figure whose photo went viral when flying the red and white flag in front of the Mobile Brigade troops who were on guard in front of the DPR building, last August 28.
Ana's mother became a symbol of women's resistance in voicing the truth. Meanwhile, Hero Green's color is a form of respect for Affan Kurniawan, an online motorcycle taxi driver who died after being run over by a Brimob tactical vehicle, during the August 28 demo.
There is also a color resistance blue or blue resistance that takes reference from the trend of emergency warnings which was busy in August 2024, during the protest against the revision of the Pilkada Law.
This color represents the public's rejection of an arbitrary government. This visual campaign phenomenon cannot be separated from the 17+8 People's Demands campaign prepared by a group of influencers activists, and the Civil Society Alliance including Andovi da Lopez and Jovial da Lopez.
