Manchester United Are Worried About Cunha And Mount's Injury
Ruben Amorim said he hoped for good news after Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount picked up an injury against Burnley on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Old Trafford.
The Portuguese coach is anxious because the Red Devils really need them to be competitive.
Cunha--player recruited this summer at a price of 62.5 million pounds from Wolverhampton Wanderers--forced off the pitch in the first half in a 3-2 win with a hamstring injury.
Mount - who played well in the first 45 minutes - did not return to play in the second half and was replaced by Kobbie Mainoo.
Both will be examined by Manchester United's medical staff and Amorim states that being sidelined for a long time will be a crushing blow.

The Brazilian Football Association (CBF) confirmed on weekends that Cunha had been replaced by Samuel Lino in Carlo Ancelotti's squad after a conversation between the Manchester United medical department and the Brazil National Team.
Amoritism was very frustrated when Cunha fell while holding her feet so she had to refrain from kicking a water bottle into the stands.
"I don't know (how they are). We will check on them. We really need them to be competitive," said Amorim.
Despite Cunha and Mount's injury, Manchester United managed to secure their first Premier League win of the season thanks to Bruno Fernandes' penalty during injury time.
The Amory Team had won twice, but was equalized by Burnley. The match looks like it will end in a draw before VAR Stuart Attwell awarded Manchester United a penalty in the 97th minute.
Fernandes scored a week after failing to execute a penalty against Fulham.
"It ended well. I think we deserved to win the game. I think we created a lot of chances."
"We should have entered the first half with a bigger advantage. Then, everyone at this moment, every ball possession near our penalty box, they can score."
"We were at that moment, so we always chased after a lot of things. However, we deserved to win and we tried until the last minute to score. We had a chance and in the end we deserved to win," said Amorim again.
