Next Year's KKP Budget Increases Significantly To IDR 13 Trillion, What For?
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) received a budget ceiling of IDR 13 trillion in 2026.
KP Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono said the budget allocation increased from the previous in the KKP budget indicative ceiling of IDR 3.61 trillion.
"We would like to thank the chairmen, vice chairmen and all members of Commission IV of the DPR RI for the support and trust given, so that finally in the 2026 KKP budget year (TA) the KKP will receive an increase in the budget from Rp3.6 trillion in the indicative ceiling to Rp13 trillion (in) the budget ceiling. It's been four years, mother, this is the first time," said Trenggono at a Working Meeting with Commission IV of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 3.
Trenggono explained that the KKP budget ceiling came from pure rupiah amounting to Rp12.3 trillion, foreign loans and grants of Rp278 billion, Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) Rp74 billion, Public Service Agency (BLU) Rp217 billion and State Sharia Securities (SBSN) Rp87 billion.
Of this total, a budget of IDR 12.72 trillion was used for the expenditure needs of employees, operations, and the implementation of President Prabowo Subianto's priority program.
Then, for the revitalization of quality insurance laboratories; additional education budgets; increased supervision of marine and fishery resources; government assistance; as well as strengthening basic tasks and production for public services.
The priority programs launched by the Prabowo Government, namely, the construction of a red and white fishing village (KNMP); national plantation development; revitalization of people's shrimp ponds; development of integrated shrimp pond areas; as well as modeling seaweed cultivation, lobsters and stellar baul.
Meanwhile, said Trenggono, based on the echelon 1 organizational unit, the draft KKP budget ceiling can be conveyed as follows.
For the Secretariat General (Setjen) amounting to Rp640.5 billion, the Inspectorate General is Rp98.87 billion.
Then, the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Capture Fisheries amounted to Rp6.25 trillion, the Directorate General of Aquaculture amounted to Rp1.15 trillion.
Next, the Directorate General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision (PSDKP) amounting to Rp1.04 trillion, the Directorate General of Strengthening Competitiveness for Marine and Fishery Products (PDSKP) Rp276 billion and the Directorate General of Marine Management amounting to Rp1.39 trillion.
Then, for the Directorate General of Marine Spatial Planning (PRL) amounting to Rp199 billion,
The Maritime and Fisheries Human Resources Counseling and Development Agency (BPPSDMKP) is IDR 1.39 trillion and the Marine and Fishery Product Quality Control and Supervision Agency (BPPMHKP) is IDR 530.3 billion.

In 2026, the KKP has prepared a work plan in line with the government's vision and mission in realizing food self-sufficiency.
Trenggono revealed the KKP's main performance target next year.
First, the increase in water conservation areas reached 30.7 million hectares. Second, fishery production reached 25.84 million tons.
"Salt production reaches 2.5 million tons, the export value of fishery products is 6.7 billion US dollars, fishery GDP growth in the range of 4 to 6 percent," he explained.
