The Indonesian Futsal National Team Participates In A Tournament In China To Prepare For The 2025 SEA Games

JAKARTA The Indonesian Futsal National Team will fight in the China Invitational Tournament (CFA) International 2025 as part of preparations for the 2025 SEA Games which will take place at the end of this year.

The squad that will take part in the event has just been released by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) and the Indonesian Futsal Federation (FFI) at the Media Center of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, said this was an opportunity for the Garuda Squad to finalize preparations to welcome the SEA Games in Thailand later.

"The principle is the spirit of Indonesian futsal to prepare for the closest event, namely the 2025 SEA Games Thailand," said Dito in an official statement received.

China's Invitational Tournament (CFA) International 2025 will be held on 5'11 September 2025 in Shijiazhuang, China. Indonesia has brought a total of 14 players to the event.

Dito emphasized that this event is important to measure capabilities as well as add international experience. He also hopes that Indonesia can get the best results.

"I hope that all the players who take part in this tournament are used as well as possible because this futsal has an ambitious target of getting gold at the SEA Games," said Dito.

This target is because Indonesia's futsal position is currently ranked 23rd in the world and fourth in Asia. So, for the Southeast Asian level, Indonesia should be able to talk a lot.

The General Chairperson of FFI, Michael Victor Sianipar, is very optimistic about Indonesia's journey in China later because they have undergone careful preparation.

"We hope that the team can return home with proud results and further strengthen Indonesia's position on the international futsal stage," said Michael.

Indonesia will start a journey from Group B with New Zealand, Myanmar and Cambodia. Group A is hosted by China, South Korea, Denmark, and the United Arab Emirates.

Most of the players who are included in the Indonesian Futsal national team squad are players who are under 23 years old. Only two senior players participated, namely Muhammad Fajriyan and Dewa Rizki.
