Gyokeres And Isak Moves Full Of Drama, Is It True That Players Are Stronger Than Clubs?
JAKARTA - The Premier League often grabs attention if the summer transfer market begins to open. Apart from buying players, transfer dramas also do not escape as a spectacle.
In this summer's transfer window, two players were involved in transfers with Premier League clubs, namely Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak. The second move took quite some time.
Gyokeres had clashed with Sporting CP officials regarding his rejection of Arsenal's proposal.
After choosing a training strike that led to a fine, Gyokeres' departure finally materialized. However, the transfer made the striker's relationship with Sporting unfavorable.

President of Sporting CP, Frederico Varandas, had revealed that before agreeing to an agreement with Arsenal, he said there was an act of 'extortion'.
The extortion in question is none other than because Gyokeres asked the club to lower prices so they could immediately move to Arsenal.
Initially, Sporting CP initially set a high price of up to 100 million euros, but Gyokeres and his agents insisted on the range of 60-70 million euros.
However, Gyokeres agents eventually reduced their commission to expedite the deal, allowing this transfer to be reached.
Meanwhile, Isak is like three money. His move to Liverpool from Newcastle United is protracted.
As soon as the Reds expressed interest in recruiting the Swedish striker, Isak welcomed it. However, Isak's desire to leave was hindered by the club.
The 25-year-old gave a statement that Newcastle United broke their promise (in the release clause), which the club later denied.
The statement also made Isak removed from the first team. He was not invited to the Newcastle United pre-season tour and was removed from the list of players throughout the first three matches of the 2025/2026 Premier League.
On the last day of the transfer market, an agreement was reached, which broke the Premier League transfer record of 125 million pounds.
Gyokeres also welcomed the news that Isak had anchored to Liverpool, supporting the career of his compatriot, who in this transfer market were both 'difficult'.
Even so, Gyokeres was reluctant to agree that the strength of the players (to urge to move) was bigger than the club.
"I congratulate Isak for his move. I don't know exactly what the situation is, so it's difficult for me to talk about it."
"When there are unwanted players at the club, I think the opposite is true, he has no power. Clubs can really do whatever they want," he said.
Apart from that, Gyokeres is also happy with Isak's continuation of his career. This was very useful when called the Swedish National Team (Timnas).
Both are tandems in the Swedish national team who are struggling to get tickets to the 2026 World Cup finals.
"It's always fun to have a good player in the national team. We certainly want to achieve the World Cup next year. If we have the best players available in the team, it will certainly help."
"We played several games together and felt very good. He scored, I scored, and we gave each other assists. I think it's great to keep on that track and improve the team's performance," said Gyokeres.
Sweden will start their struggle in Group B of the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the European Zone on Saturday, September 6, 2025 WIB, with a trip to Slovenia before facing Kosovo on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, early morning WIB.
