The Mandalika MotoGP Is Officially Managed By The Ministry Of Youth And Sports
The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) officially took over the management of the Mandalika MotoGP starting this year's edition and beyond.
This assurance was confirmed by the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, after he chaired a virtual meeting with Injourney, Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), and Dorna Sports Chief Sporting Officer, Carlos Ezpeleta, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
"Starting this year, the Mandalika MotoGP will be officially managed directly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports," Dito said as quoted on the official website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The Minister of Youth and Sports emphasized that the Mandalika MotoGP is not just a sports competition, but also a strategic means to strengthen Indonesia's global image, encourage tourism growth, and to accelerate regional economic development.

He said that the Government is fully committed to ensuring the success of the 2025 MotoGP in early October and the next implementation.
"This event is a national priority because of its significant impact on tourism, international imagery, and regional economic growth," said Dito.
Dito also ensured that Indonesia was committed to building a long-term partnership with Dorna Sports and would open up opportunities for the development of new circuits in other areas as part of the national roadmap of motorsport.
"MotoGP is not just a sport, but a global platform to show Indonesia as a modern, open and competitive nation in the international arena," he said.
ITDC President Director Ari Respati said that this meeting was an important milestone in the process of transitioning the authority to implementation.
"The contract transition with the Ministry of Youth and Sports is not only a formality, but also a strong signal of the Government's seriousness in lifting the Mandalika MotoGP to a higher level," said Ari.
Dorna Sports Chief Sporting Officer, Carlos Ezpeleta, also emphasized Indonesia's importance in the global MotoGP map.
He said that Indonesia is one of the largest markets in the world, both from the number of fans and the motorcycle industry.
"Indonesia is a very vital market, if not the largest for MotoGP. The enthusiasm of fans is very large, the motorcycle industry is growing rapidly, and we believe Indonesia will give birth to the MotoGP stars of the future," said Carlos.
