Indonesia's Young Talents Create Isyara, An Interactive Platform For Learning Independent Sign Languages
JAKARTA - A group of young talents who graduated from the Coding Camp 2025 powered by the DBS Foundation introduced Isyara, an interactive web platform for learning sign language in an exciting, light, and fun way.
Even though efforts have been made to introduce Indonesian Sign Language (BISINDO) and the Indonesian Language Sign System (SIBI), this initiative has emerged due to the lack of choice of sign language learning platforms.
Membering six people 'Nauval Gymnasti, Davin Ghani Ananta Kusuma, Rizka Alfadilla, Dimas Rio Adisaputra, Elisa Oktaviana, and Zidan Dwi Permana, Isyara was present not only to make it easier for people to learn sign language, but also to make it popular and understand more widely.
Armed with gesture recognition technology and a gaming approach, Isyara is not only designed to make learning easier, but also to popularize sign language as a universal language that everyone understands.
This language is a universal language that everyone should understand, not just special skills for the Deaf community. With Isyara, we want to foster an interest in learning as well as pave the way for inclusive communication," explained Team Chair Isyara Nauval Gymnasti.
Isyara has been named the best capstone project of the Coding Camp 2025 powered by the DBS Foundation for its success in presenting an interactive and real-time website that allows anyone to learn sign language independently.
Currently, learning on the new Isyara platform includes alphabet material. In the future, the Isyara team will also present word material and everyday sentences to establish direct connections with the Deaf community in various regions.
Isyara will also present Isyara Arena, a multiplayer feature that allows users to study with friends while competing interactively.

Not only that, this platform is opened as an open source project so that more parties can collaborate to accelerate the creation of more inclusive communication among the community.
"Isyara is a clear proof of how young Indonesian talents can produce solutions that are not only innovative but also have a positive impact on society," said Head of Strategic Marketing & Communications of PT Bank DBS Indonesia Mona Monika.
