Following NasDem-PAN, Golkar Also Freezes Salaries And Allowances For Adies Kadir Who Was Deactivated From The DPR
The Golkar Party faction of the DPR RI following a policy taken by the NasDem and PAN factions to freeze salaries and allowances for members of the DPR who are inactive. The chairman of the Golkar Party faction of the DPR RI, Muhammad Sarmuji, emphasized that membership status in the DPR has clear logical consequences, including financial rights.
"DPR members who are declared inactive should have logical consequences, not receive salaries and including all forms of allowances. That is the difference between active and inactive members of the DPR," Sarmuji told reporters, Wednesday, September 3.
"If there is no reference related to this, the MKD (Regional Honorary Court) can make decisions that are a guide for the Secretariat General (DPR RI)," he continued.
The Secretary-General of the Golkar Party explained that the inactive status means that a member is no longer carrying out the function of people's representation in the DPR, so it is illogical to continue to receive salaries and facilities sourced from the state.
"If it is deactivated, it means that it is hindered or does not perform the function of diversity. If you do not carry out your duties, yes, the rights are also lost. This is part of a fair and transparent mechanism," he explained.
As is known, the Golkar Party has disabled the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Adies Kadir, since Monday, September 1, 2025, after his comments regarding the increase in board allowances sparked a polemic.
