After Looting, Uya Kuya: I Didn't Comment for a Moment, I Was Afraid of Being Misinterpreted

JAKARTA - After his house was looted by a mob, celebrity and member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Uya Kuya, admitted he didn't want to comment further because he didn't want his statements to become the target of misinformation again.

"The point is, I won't say much for now, so things can calm down. Because if I say anything wrong, I'm afraid I'll be fried and cut up again," said Uya Kuya, as quoted by VOI from YouTube's Intens Investigasi on Wednesday, September 3.

"Because yesterday I didn't say anything, they made videos using my old videos, and then gave them captions as if I were speaking. So now it's better for me not to comment on anything for now, that's all," he continued.

However, regarding his family, Uya Kuya confirmed that everything is fine. He even said he has come to terms with the looting that has destroyed his possessions.

The most important thing for Uya Kuya and his family is his pet cat, which was also taken by the mob to be saved.

"Just pray for the best. I'm currently taking care of my family, taking care of everything, and we're okay with it. The important thing is that our cats are returned, that's all," said Uya Kuya.

Fortunately, several of Uya Kuya's pet cats have been found and rescued by various parties.

"Yes, there are updates on my Instagram story. Some have been found, some are with me, some were found and then taken to a shelter, and some were found by the police, all sorts of things, that's all. More on that later," Uya Kuya explained.

Uya Kuya further admitted that he has accepted the looting incident, but he was still reluctant to reveal the total loss he has suffered.

"I accept it, I accept it, I accept it. God willing, I accept it. The important thing is that my cats are back, that's all. All I'm thinking about is my cats," Uya Kuya continued.

"I don't know (the amount of the loss), so let's not talk about that yet. Thank you," he concluded.
