Emil Dardak, Arumi Bachsin's Husband Chooses To Hug And Care For The Perpetrators Of The Burning Of The Grahadi Building In Surabaya

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of East Java and the husband of actress Arumi Bachsin, Emil Dardak, were seen visiting the masses of the alleged perpetrators of the burning of the Grahadi Surabaya Building, which is also the office where he worked at the moment of the demonstration some time ago.

At that moment, Emil allegedly showed the current condition of the Grahadi Building after being engulfed in flames. He said that there was nothing left of the fire at that time.

"This is my place to serve the community. Everything is gone," said Emil Dardak, quoted by VOI from Instagram @emildardak, Wednesday, September 3.

He emphasized that there was not too much problem with his office which was also the cultural heritage. For him, the most important thing is the safety of the alleged perpetrators who turned out to be underage.

"I have a problem with facilities or so, what number is it. But the safety of all the younger siblings, so be careful really," continued Emil Dardak.

Emil explained that for this incident himself he had met the parents of the alleged perpetrators of the burning of the Grahadi Building. During the meeting he also found that the perpetrators did not have a political motive in carrying out their actions.

"We at the Surabaya Polrestabes met with parents from the 50s. So, from the incident in Surabaya, it turns out that these 50 are minors. What they did when they were investigated did not have any political motives at all, they only joined in," said Emil Dardak.

He also believes that the children below do not have enough capability to be able to assemble the Molotov cocktails suspected of burning the Grahadi Building.

"And they don't actually have the technical ability to assemble Molotov cocktails and so on. So it's very dangerous for these children to be outside in situations that can deal with fires, stone throws, and then be used by people who then arm them. This is something to watch out for," he explained.

For this reason, Emil Dardak gave advice to the parents of the alleged perpetrators to take better care of their children, especially in this unfavorable Indonesian situation.

"So earlier, we talked to parents, of course they are all sad, but we still encourage parents not to give up in fostering their children so that they are careful because our children on the streets can be used by irresponsible parties to do this, sacrificed, and even returned," he concluded.
