11 Gorontalo Demonstrators Returned, Mandatory To Sign Statement Letter

GORONTALO - The Gorontalo Regional Police released 11 demonstrators who had been arrested during a clash in a demonstration in the Simpang Lima area of Gorontalo City, Gorontalo Province, Tuesday, September 2 night.

Director of the General Criminal Directorate of the Gorontalo Police, Kombes Pol. Ade Permana in Gorontalo, said that previously 11 demonstrators had been examined and taken information.

"From the results of the examination, we apply Article 160, Junto Article 170, Junto Article 55. Then we do the filing but we have not raised the investigation," said Ade, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 3.

However, thanks to the greatness of the Gorontalo Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Widodo, he said, the 11 people were released or returned to their respective families, provided that their parents or families are obliged to make a statement that the 11 people will not participate in any more anarchic demonstration.

This is also a lesson for other demonstrators, that when conducting demonstrations to express their aspirations, there is no need to use anarchic methods such as destruction, persecution, arson, or other unlawful acts.

The parents of the 11 people released have also been made witnesses, as a form of accountability that if their child does the same thing again, then this case will be raised to the stage of determining the suspect.

"We have returned everything to their parents and families. They are in good health, but a statement has been made not to repeat their actions," he said.

Meanwhile, one of the students released by Andi Taufik said that during their 9 hours of examination, they received guidance and guidance that demonstrations by breaking up was prohibited in the law.

"Alhamdulillah, we are not proven guilty, and we will continue to fight for the rights of the people, students, workers, farmers, and fishermen, but in conducive ways," he added.
