Police Reveal Promises Of IDR 62,000 to IDR 200,000 Offered At Demonstrations
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) have discovered indications of promises of money being offered to protesters, ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of rupiah.
"They were offering monetary rewards ranging from IDR 62,500 to IDR 200,000 for children and adults who wanted to attend the demonstration," said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, to reporters on Monday evening, September 2.
So far, the identity of the person offering the money is unknown. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the truth.
"There are several other parties we are still investigating," Ade said.
In the ongoing handling of the riots that have occurred in several areas of Jakarta, the police have named six suspects: Delpedro Marhaen, Muzafar Salim, Syahdan Husein, Khariq Anhar, RAP, and FL.
The suspects were involved in spreading calls or incitement to commit anarchic acts through social media.
In fact, one of them, suspect RAP, played a role in providing a tutorial on making Molotov cocktails. He also provided information on the whereabouts or locations of Molotov cocktails that had been made for use in the riots.
"We have named six suspects and are currently undergoing questioning," said Ade.
