TNI and Polri Tighten Security for 2025 Bangka Regional Election Recount

BABEL - Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (Polri) personnel have tightened security for the vote count for the 2025 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) Rerun in Bangka, Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel), held by the local General Elections Commission (KPU).

"We are strengthening security both outside and inside the building, conducting preliminary checks at the entrance for invited guests," said Head of Operations, Adjunct Commissioner of Police (AKP) Astrian Tomi in Sungailiat on Tuesday, as reported by Antara.

He continued, explaining that this security measure is to ensure the safe, orderly, and conducive implementation of the vote count recapitulation for the 2025 rerun of the 2025 regency-level Pilkada.

Tomi said that 189 police personnel, assisted by 30 TNI personnel and dozens of Bangka Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) personnel, were deployed to secure the vote count, which was held at a hotel in the area.

"Maintaining the safe, orderly, and conducive implementation of the 2025 Regional Elections is the National Police's commitment. The same security measures are being implemented throughout the election process, including ballot sorting, logistics distribution, and voting at the polling stations (TPS), sub-district, and regency levels, all the way through to the final stages of the election," he said.

He expressed his appreciation to the entire community in Bangka Regency for their support of the 2025 Regional Elections, ensuring their smooth, orderly, and safe conduct.

Bangka General Elections Commission (KPU) Chairman Sinarto stated that the regency-level vote counting process is a hierarchical process, starting at the polling stations (TPS), then at the sub-district (PPK) and regency levels.
