Held Peaceful Action At Monas, Ojol Drivers Urge Fellows Not To Be Provoked

JAKARTA - Hundreds of ojol drivers from various regions in Jadetabek gathered for peaceful demonstrations in the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, September 2.

Arrin, one of the masses present, said the action was aimed at inviting all ojol drivers to choose peace, as well as supporting security forces to restore the security of last week's large post-demonstration.

"We are here to convey that the action we are doing is spontaneous. Then, this action is our support for the police," said Arrin.

Regarding the case of the death of Affan Kurniawan, the ojol drivers in this action agreed to submit a legal process to be carried out fairly.

"We believe and hand over the entire legal process to the police," he said.

Furthermore, Arrin hopes that all elements of society, especially ojol drivers, will not be provoked by narratives that lead to violence, especially crime.

"Then, we urge friends out there, never to be provoked," said Arrin.

"Let's make Jakarta safe again, conducive, and shine at night," he added.

In addition, there is also Fauzi, another ojol driver, who hopes that this peaceful demonstration will be a good moment to remember the late Affan Kurniawan.

"Here, we remember our late friend, Affan, and we leave the case to the legal process. Hopefully, it will be investigated thoroughly," concluded Fauzi.
