BYD Capai Historical Milestone In Malaysia, Already Selling 20,000 Units

JAKARTA - Build Your Dream (BYD) has succeeded in gaining success in neighboring Malaysia by selling 20 thousand vehicles.

The beginning of BYD's entry to Malaysia brought the Atto 3 model on December 8 which means it will take almost two years and almost nine months to reach a milestone of 20,000 units.

At the same time, BYD expanded its product lineup by launching Dolphin in July, then the Seal sedan, M6 to the Sealion 7 SUV at the end of last year.

This year the brand also brings its premium brand suh, Denza, by presenting the MPV D9 model, which launched the beginning of the year. BYD also presented Atto 2 for the market. In total, BYD currently offers seven electric vehicles in Malaysia, including D9.

According to data on the registration of vehicles from the Highway Transportation Service (JPJ) until the end of July Sealion 7 is BYD's best-selling model in the first seven months of 2025 with 2,238 units. Atto 3 is in second place with 2,056 units, while M6 is in third place with 1,094 units.

Last month also seen BYD Malaysia revealing plans to set up a local factory that occupies an area of 600,000 square meters at the KLK TechPark in Tanjong Malim, which is expected to start production of vehicles in the second half of 2026.
