The Ministry Of Public Works Helps The DKI Provincial Government Repair 2 JPOs Worth Rp19 Billion Damaged After The Demonstration

JAKARTA - The Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo said that his party would help the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to repair two pedestrian bridges (JPO) in Jakarta which were damaged after the demonstration led to clashes some time ago.

Dody revealed that the central government will allocate a budget for the repair of two JPOs in the Senen area and Polda Metro Jaya, Central Jakarta owned by the DKI Provincial Government.

This was revealed by Dody after meeting the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, to discuss the handling of public facilities damaged by the riots in the capital city.

"Earlier, the Governor said that the JPO at Polda plus at Senen will be our responsibility in Public Works. There is no problem. Even if there are others, because there is a President's direction, we are ready too," said Dody at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, September 2.

Dody claims that the repair work for the two JPOs connected to the Transjakarta bus stop will be carried out by the Ministry of Public Works in the near future. However, Dody has not disclosed the budget disbursed by the central government.

"We will do the two quickly. We hope (improvement) is functional in less than 7 days. Only how much value is in detail not yet, because this is new, yes," said Dody.

Although the repair budget has not been disclosed with certainty, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that the two damaged JPOs were worth Rp. 19 billion, based on the calculation of the Bina Marga Office.

"We have calculated it as an indication of a value of approximately Rp. 19 billion for the previous 2 JPOs," said Pramono.

Furthermore, the DKI Provincial Government is currently repairing other public facilities that were damaged after the demonstration in the past week, including the Transjakarta bus stop, the entrance to the Jakarta MRT station, to traffic lights.

"There were several CCTVs that were damaged and also repaired 18 traffic lights. Alhamdulillah, of the 18, 17 have been completed, only one has not been completed, namely in Slipi," he explained.

Previously, PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said that his party had prepared a budget of around Rp900 billion to rehabilitate public facilities throughout Indonesia damaged by protests a few days ago.

This was conveyed by Dody when inspecting the location of the Pejompongan Toll Gate (GT) in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 2. "The total cost is that we counted almost Rp900 billion throughout Indonesia yesterday," said Dody.

Dody said the budget would be allocated to repair damaged public facilities, such as toll gates, bus stops, DPRD buildings to Transjakarta and MRT bus stops.

"We take the first point, the main thing is the toll gate. Because, right, the toll road is passed almost every day by all of our colleagues and Transjakarta bus stops and MRT are affected," he said.
