Batutulis Will Soon Have a New Route, Bogor City Government Hopes for Central Government Funding
BOGOR - Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim, along with Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya, inspected the Batutulis two-wheeled vehicle (R2) lane on Saleh Danasasmita Street, Bogor City, on Monday, September 1.
This inspection was conducted after the two men jointly monitored conditions in Bogor City. They directly inspected the proposed new access point, which is currently undergoing the administrative and technical planning stages.
Dedie Rachim stated that this route is highly strategic, not only for alleviating traffic congestion but also as part of efforts to develop the Batutulis area.
"Thank God, today I invited him to inspect the proposed new access location for Batutulis, which is still undergoing the administrative process," he said.
Dedie Rachim explained that the current land requirement for the road alignment is estimated at 4,100 square meters. Furthermore, there are technical constraints related to remaining land owned by residents that cannot be reused after the road is divided, requiring a comprehensive land acquisition policy.
He added that to realize this plan, support from the central government is needed, given the region's fiscal limitations, particularly in terms of land and construction financing.
"Of course, we hope that with his presence in the central government, he can help identify alternative financing options from the central government. Or, we can push other ministries to facilitate access, perhaps finding alternative financing options," said Dedie Rachim.
At the same location, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya considered the plan to open access to Batutulis a concrete example of the need for collaboration across levels of government.
"I asked to be invited to Batutulis because this location requires collaborative management between the city, province, and central government. The local government certainly cannot cover all activities alone, so it needs to find alternative funding sources," he said.
Bima Arya explained that the Batutulis area holds strategic value, both in terms of history and vital access for the community. He believes that financial support is highly likely to help accelerate the development of the Batutulis area.
"We see that the Bogor City Government has taken precautionary measures by opening a temporary route, but residents are eagerly awaiting the plan to open permanent access. I think it's very possible to apply for funding support from the ministry or the province," he concluded.
