National Police Chief Hunts Down Actors And Donaturs Behind Anarchistic Demo

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that his team is investigating the actors and donors suspected of being behind the recent demonstrations that turned violent.

"We will draw from the facts on the ground. We will investigate everything from the perpetrators, the actors, to those who financed them," he said in Jakarta on Monday, September 1.

Listyo added that the National Police are currently focused on following up on President Prabowo Subianto's order to restore security and order after the riots.

"So that people can return to normal activities, the economy can continue to grow, and the perpetrators of the riots will be arrested and processed according to the law," he said.

According to data from National Police Headquarters, as of Monday, September 1, 3,195 people have been arrested in connection with the violent demonstrations in various regions. Of these, 55 have been named suspects, while 387 have been released. The remainder are still undergoing intensive questioning at 15 regional police stations across Indonesia.
